Presentations can also cover general Australian reptile and amphibian species, along with practical first aid information for snake bites and wildlife encounters. A range of live animals are displayed throughout the session, giving attendees the opportunity to observe these fascinating creatures up close while learning from experienced presenters.

Our Snake Handling, Catching & Relocation Courses are delivered in small groups and run regularly from October to March, providing practical, hands-on training for anyone wanting to better understand and safely work with snakes.

Choose from three progressive training levels:

• Introduction to Snake Awareness

• Snake Catching & Relocation

• Advanced Handling Techniques & Husbandry

All courses include snakebite first aid, venom awareness, and emergency response training, with a strong focus on safety, animal welfare, and best-practice handling techniques.

The course is recognised by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania and is suitable for supporting applications for a Special Purposes Wildlife Permit for Herpetofauna. Participants completing the relevant training gain the skills and knowledge required to safely catch and relocate venomous snakes in the wild, subject to permit requirements.

Our Reptile & Amphibian Husbandry Courses are coming soon and will be available for both adults and young wildlife enthusiasts looking to learn more about the responsible care and management of reptiles and amphibians in captivity.
